Hook of Holland Rotterdam trains suspended from 1 April

Post by willem jongman »

From 1 April (no joke) this year the rail connection between Hook of Holland and Rotterdam will be turned into a metro line. While this is being done, and for a period of five months, there will only be buses between the Hook and Schiedam, and these will not take bikes. A bike ride from the Hook to Schiedam is about 25 km.

Is there a waterbed between the Hook and Rotterdam, I have been on one between Rotterdam and kinderdijk and there is lots of cycle spaces.

If you mean a ferry, not that I know. It is a waterway with some really large ships.

Did a spellchecker change 'veerboot' (ferry) to 'waterbed'?

Grrr- thanks for that - my holiday in May is via Hoek (although not cycling) - the Google translated info is here : https://translate.google.com/translate? ... elijn.html
The odd thing (to me) is that the Hoek trams won't run to Rotterdam Centraal station

Thanks - there is very little info about this on the Dutch trains website and on the Stena site. I'm intending to take my Brompton so it will be luggage!
