Madrid airport arrival

Post by johnebuswell »

Hi, We will be arriving at Madrid airport with Ryannair at 20.00 on a Sunday evening in September with our 2 bikes. We need to get to our accommodation near Charmatin railway station. Has anyone experience of getting a taxi at a Madrid airport with bikes? We could leave them in the CTC plastic bike bags for the taxi journey if necessary.

Plenty of taxis at the airport, but from memory, they are usually four door saloon Seats or Skodas.

I don't recall seeing MPV's.

If you're willing to leave the bikes bagged, http://community.raileurope.com/raileur ... enfe-train suggests it's an 11 minute ride on the C-1 train.

Edit: http://www.travellerspoint.com/guide/Madrid/ claims bikes don't need to be bagged on C trains, although there's no specific space for them, so I'd avoid it at peak times.
