And meths is far less dangerous.

Perhaps double-check with the ferry company:

I thought, by by my amateur reading, shipping rules seemed to allow 500ml of 'meths' (presumably on car deck), but double checked with the ferry company: who said that was allowed by their own rules : so perhaps just check with your chosen ferry company (a number is given for such checks)?
