with code OS40OFF
so eg the complete 50,000 Landranger for Gt Britain £60 rather than £100

Depends how much you value Ordnance Survey cartography. OSM works well on mobile devices, I use it myself on my e-Trex, but if you prefer OS cartography then Memory Map is one of the most cost effective and versatile ways to access it. All the advantages of the paper maps but at a greatly reduced price. Add in the benefits of the rather good bundled software and £60 for the entire UK at 1:50K seems like a bargain.

Indeed it is - you might like to look at an annual subscription to OS maps £17 a year and access to every OS map. You can print out the bit you need the chuck it away afterwards. I use it on my Samsung smartphone. Also on the laptop at home.
Re: Memory Map 40% off sale
if the question is should you go for Anquet or Memory Map then I would say Memory Map. Anquet have been messing customers around for some time with their software requiring software upgrades, which wont display earlier maps so you need to install more than one copy.
But my main dislike of Anquet is the software is sluggish and slow even on a yesteryear quad core pc with decent graphics card on a ssd - Anquet used to have decent software that was nippy and worked well on my pda but now its not. Memory Maps software even on my pda is quite smooth
I only wish they had a 100,000 UK map, so I will still have to continue to use Phllips Navigator from Anquet ( which by the way you cant get for pc anymore so a double wammy ) Really good enough for cycling?

Re: Memory Map 40% off sale
I've not tried Anquet software since a free trial of their Harvey maps many years ago.
It's interesting that the Anquet Phillips Navigator 1:100K is no longer available for PC. If I recall something similar was previously available on MM but I just checked their web site and I can't see it. My recollection of the MM offering was that the detail wasn't great, merely an enlarged copy of a smaller scale map.
Sadly with the exception of a few maps from specialised suppliers like Goldeneye, there's a dearth of good cartography, paper or digital, at that scale. I find the 1:250K base map supplied with MM is just about useable for rural areas but lacking in detail for more urban cycling.

much less detail? look around Benacre south of Kessingland, just one loop road
Re: Memory Map 40% off sale
I've had full MM for almost as long as I've had a computer, I think it came on about eight discs! I can't remember how much it was, but certainly nothing like as cheap as it is now. I justified the price to myself, by comparing it to the cost of paper maps, but I haven't bought any less of them since. I don't use it anything like as much as I used to, there's better online websites for planning routes, but to get ideas and record trips it's great, I still consider it was a good buy.
Re: Memory Map 40% off sale
I see that Anquet have a similar sale but £70 so £10 more - but as I said best avoid them as the software is sluggish
