I too have had my share of issues with Cyclingworld magazine.

Last Christmas I was delighted when my daughter who lives in Australia gave me a years subscription to this magazine. I never heard or received anything for months. In June I received one copy of the magazine. Of course the phone number was out of action for months as well. I managed ( cannot remember how) to obtain a new number which is 01227910111. I have had it up to my bloody eyes with this bunch, I met Nichole at the cycle show at the NEC this year. I have been assured 100 times over that it will be sorted. I have also like others received the digital copies which is not what I want. I have never met anything like this before. They are a disgrace.
I am still waiting.
What grieves me the most is that it was a present from daughter and therefore her money.

I'm constantly getting spammed and phoned by them to pay for big advertorials, sometimes several times on the same day. Wouldn't touch them with the proverbial...

Perhaps the problem is more that there is insufficient advertising in the touring market to support such a magazine, although in Germany they have 3 excellent specialised cycle touring magazines.

Even in the smaller and quite a bit less rich market of Poland there's at least one very good cycletouring magazine. But Cycling World hasn't been a "premium" magazine for at least five years IMO.

I briefly spoke to the publishers of Cycling World when they were looking for a new editor a few years back. I would have loved to have got my hands on the magazine, but I couldn't see any way in which a saleable magazine could be produced for the editorial budget that was on offer. The preponderance of advertorial is probably a reflection of that.

Which are those please? The German-reading market is a bit bigger I think

As I am not presently idling my time away at a book stall in a German railway station I will struggle to answer your question. But I have seen them for sale in Holland as well.
One is - I think - just called Cycle Touring - except in German, and one seemed more directed towards the electric bike market.
Others more fluent in the language or presently living on the Continent will perhaps be along to assist in due course.

I to have the same problem, subscribed to "Cycling World" in September 2016 at the NEC Cycle Show, received 2 copies of the magazine then nothing after that. Since then i have written to them via special delivery, rang them many times and send emails. I even contacted the director of the company Colin Wooley and was told everything would be sorted. Nothing was ever done. Been in touch with Trading standards and the organisers of the show at the NEC who both said they will look into the matter. Once again nothing has come from this either. Like other people, i started to receive a digital copy of the magazine in September 2017, from a company called "JooMag" . Don't know what relation this company is to Cycling world. This company needs to be stopped and banned from Cycle shows.

Never ever subscribed but I was always delighted when I saw it for sale in WH Smith's as it's a good read.
If I had the money I would buy the company as there's a market out there for it if they could only just get their act together.
Unlike the other cycling Mags I buy it's not full of glossy adverts for the latest gear and really expensive bikes but instead articles on real world cycling supported by genuine touring cycle shops.
