Malaga-Santander or Santander-Malaga?

We're planning a Spain end-to-end June-July. Is it better to go north to south or south to north - in terms of landscape, prevailing winds etc.
Be grateful for any route advice from anyone who's done this. We're planning about 6 weeks in all.
