Question for bike bag users via air travel???

Post by Woodtourer »

This is a question for those who have used the plastic bag system fir your bike for air travel. I have obtained mattress bags for our upcoming trip but as they are quite large I will be reducing the size .
So the question is do you prefer the opening to be on the side or the top of the bag?
I have a way to "fuse" the cut edges of the plastic so I can be creative!!
Thanks!!

I would do long edge opening, wheel bike onto bag and pull it up around the bike.

Ditto, but I'm no expert as I have only used a poly bag twice (out and back).

Woodtourer - aren't you flying from USA then taking bus to Portsmouth?

I'd check that poly bags are acceptable on both of your means of transport.
