The area is wonderful cycling territory in its own right - unless you yearn for big hills - but it's packed with history. It was at the heart of the agricultural revolution (anybody who did history will probably remember Coke of Holkham, crop rotation, enclosures, etc) and the historic importance of the church is still apparent. eg Reepham, which once had three parish churches on the same site ie the are was divided into three parishes with the village where their boundaries met.

Do you have any suggestions of how it could be improved or things/places we should do/see along the way?

If going through Harleston, try and do so at a time when you need a cake stop as http://www.tudorbakehouse.co.uk does some excellent cakes (and sensible sized portions for a cyclist). I’ve not visited their Harleston shops but their Long Stratton shop certainlyndoes (all from the same place).

We did this some years ago once fledgling North Norfolk Coast Route

The North Norfolk Coast Cyleway now has its own site: Norfolk Council - North Norfolk Coast Cycleway

The site has an interactive planning map, the ability to buy a guide (£4.00) and details of the route and various loops from it

True. Personally, I don't think it's that interesting if you're not of one of the religions there (Snettisham church, Lynn Minster and Lynn's St Nicholas Chapel are all more impressive IMO) but some might like to visit. The pie barn and Norton Rooms are both good food stops, although the pies are much bigger.

Yes, I'm not aware of any particularly impressive individual buildings, but the overall atmosphere of religiousness in Little Walsingham (it's the go-to place if you want to buy a statue of St Mary for instance) is interesting.

My wife and I rode Ipswich to Kings Lynn in June 2014. It was a great ride and can highly recommend the area - particularly liked Wells-Next-The-Sea. Here's a link to my blog on the tour:

Would be interested to hear some feedback afterwards if you do go. Have fun!

Sticking to the A149 coast road between Holkham and Sandringham is much less scenic than Route 1 Holkham to Ringstead IMO because you miss Burnham Market and spend much of the time too low down to see the sea, plus you have less time to look around because of the need to watch out for motor-tourists and their mad antics.
MJR, mostly pedalling 3-speed roadsters. KL+West Norfolk BUG incl social easy rides http://www.klwnbug.co.uk

A few decades ago, when I was much younger, I used to use Foxhills campsite, Weybourne a lot. I just checked and it's still doing business (hence the link).
