Drumoak to Ballater

If you have experience of this route, can you give me an idea of the terrain through the forestry section west of Banchory.

We tried parts of the Caledonian Way earlier this year and found the forestry section along the side of Loch Lochy was a real boneshaker. Perhaps a reduction in tyre pressures could have been a sensible attempt to improve our comfort levels!

I'm pretty sure there is a tarmac bike path along this section.
