Funny you should bring up this thread/subject. :D

Off by car tomorrow morning 07:00 or maybe 07:30, and driving down to Camborne with Moulton in the back.
Long stay carpark £2.50 all day.

I've worked out a ride of 40miles, taking in the whole of Carnmarth North containing fourteen parish churches.

In order, going anticlockwise .........
Camborne
Penponds
Treslothan
Crowan
Stithiens
Perranarworthal
Gwennap
Lanner
St Day
Chacewater
Treleigh
Redruth
Illogan
Tuckingmill

Should take me an hour and a half drive each way, plus four hours for the ride, so I'll be home mid afternoon.
The weather forecast isn't bad for tomorrow. Strong north wind and chilly, but should be dry.

All fourteen done! :D
This makes 137 done out of 226

I may do another six on Monday next week ................... weather dependent.
Today was chilly and quite windy, though dry.

Nice to see you back collecting!

Similar conditions up here complete with some ice and light dusting of snow which made a few bits of upland lane a bit interesting!
Convention? what's that then?

I did five today - not six. The sixth would have been Probus, but the distance for it would be better if I tackled it from Truro along with Grampound in Creed.
Five takes me up to 142 done.

In order today ....... 31 miles anticlockwise from Mitchell, where I'd parked (for free).
Perranzabuloe
St Agnes
Minver
St Allen
St Erme

Planning some rides from Truro and researching where the parish churches are, as they aren't always in the middle of towns and village. It take a bit of research individually and then to construct an efficient route of the right length and duration, let alone trying to find a route without too many steep hills and keeping off the major trunk roads as much as possible.

I've spent an hour or so earlier this morning constructing, and in the process tried to find St Cohan's church, Merther. It seems it's been abandoned and is "returning to nature" though still not officially closed!

I had considered dismissing Merther off my list as it's abandoned, but when I saw the photos, I'm intrigued, so I will be going! :D

Merthyr, martyr? I was concerned that you were just 'collecting' the churches by riding by without pondering on their religious significance
Perhaps you could spend some time at Merthyr and pray for us all
Might be best not to go inside, mind

These are the churches I have on the near-future list. Map with dots, and I can work out the most efficient routes.
The one on the far left, is Mount Hawke. I should have done that one when I was in the St Agnes area last week ............... but forgot to include it in my route that day.

Next ride will be from Truro, and I'll ride out and back to Mount Hawke, then work my way back via Kenwyn, Tresillian, and Probus, before turning back for Truro again. That's 27miles, but I'll get to the other churches and the cathedral in Truro too, so that will add on a few miles. There'll be a second ride from Truro yet, and then one from Mevagissey.

I'll be driving down to Truro and Mevagissey with Mrs Mick F and she can do some retail therapy whist I ride! :D

Today is Saint Dwynwens Day
Dwynwen is the patron Saint of lovers in Wales
There is a church dedicated to her at Advent, Cornwall

Advent church is dedicated to St Adwen.
No other churches there.
I did Advent parish church 29th Oct last year.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advent,_Cornwall
The Grade I listed parish church is dedicated to St Adwen,[7] one of the daughters of King Brychan of Brycheiniog,[2] often conflated with St Dwynwen, the patron saint of Love.

I spent an hour earlier this morning producing a rough map of the churches left to do. The map is not accurate and there are a small few not shown in Truro and in Falmouth areas, but just one blob each to encompass them.

You are certainly getting through them MickF!

I've just started a more open ended collection today, decorative nameboards in Nottinghamshire. Not every town/village has one, some have two, others share one. Got eight today, this is the sort of thing;-

Pretty sure there are similar things around the country so I throw it open to the wider hobbyists!

Oh yes indeed! :D

Seven done today making 149 so far.
Drove to Truro and parked for free at the Park+Ride, and did 30miles for the seven.
Truro 7.jpg

Truro first:
St George
Kenwyn
All Saints Highertown
Then out to Mount Hawke, and doubled back to Devoran, Freock, and lastly St Kea before riding back to P+R.

Next time out, it'll be Truro again for another twelve of them .................... which includes the cathedral.

I've spent a few hours today sorting out the next three rides.
Planning on Truro again on Wednesday, then Grampound on Friday. Next week, I'll go to Tregony. By then, I'll have completed a total of 171 parish churches.

This is an illustration of all that will be left after that.
What'll be Left.png
Three or four rides from Penzance or Hayle maybe, or could be Helston. Sounds like a weekend away with Mrs Mick F. :D
