Dalmatian tips

I'm looking to cycle in Croatia but have not been before. Does anyone know whether there are any good bike hire shops so i don't have to deal with the likes of Ryanair/Easyjet for the privelage of having your bike smashed up. I would take the train, but only have 10 days in total. I'm thinking of cycling down the Dalmatian coast - does anyone have any tips about routes, what to avoid etc? Thanks

I didn't bike when I was there, but I saw bikers on the Jadrolinija ferries. This might be a great way of getting around.
