Ave Verte GPX file

Post by RecumbentRide »

Anybody know of a realiable source for getting the gpx file for Ave Verte Dieppe-Paris for the eastern or western option. I'm planning to cycle this in a couple of weeks and have got the Sustrans book for the route but would really like to have a backup route on my phone just in case, though I'm told it's well signposted.

I was aware of Donald Hirch's route but planning to do the official Sustrans route, not sure how much they differ though.

Thank you Richard for the link, will definitely be having a look at that esp the blog. When did you do the ride?

Early September. We looped out from le harve to Dieppe, up the verge to grissor and cut over the hills to run back down the Seine to le harve. Good ride, as ever could improve the route having done it!

I did the Western route a few years back over 5 days. At the end of each of my blog pages for each day you'll find a Strava link to my activity. Should be able to download a gpx of them.

I won't claim that they are 100% by the book (eg diversion to my friend Chris's house in Redhill, to the ibis hotel at Versailles or occasional other mini detours and wrong turn double backs) but they might be of some use [emoji3]

I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my Pixel 2 using hovercraft full of eels.

Thank you guys since I live in Sussex I will have a 25 mile cycle to the Newhaven ferry for 11pm dept so I'm hoping to get my head down for 5 hours before arriving in Dieppe at 4am. That means I'll be spending a couple of hours making my way along the Ave Verte before sunrise unless there is something open in Dieppe at that time of the morning. I plan to cycle as far as Paris (actually St.Germain) and back again to Dieppe taking in both the Western & Easter route so hopefully averaging 60 miles a day. Because of the time of year I won't be camping so I'll be booking budget accomodation a week ahead of going. That's the rough plan so far :)

The Biroto website has gpx files for the east and west routes on this page https://www.biroto.eu/en/cycle-route-retrieval
You need to scroll down to the individual countries list below the multi-country list.
