Got a £19 headtorch that's got reactive function at found on £80 petzl. Got my 6 year old a cob led one that's even brighter in pure lumens terms. Just after it arrived a dog walk in the dark my torch was very dim. Had it for a month of nightly 30 minutes dog walk and the batteries were shot. Thought it was too soon and the torch was going to be a warranty job. New batteries proved that the only issue is they go through batteries a lot quicker than any other similarly bright head torches I've owned.

Alpkit are solid, no nonsense kit. Not the lightest or best but more upper mid range IMHO.

Decathlon is another option for bang for the buck quality.

Yesterday 30km in 3C. Wearing the following Alpkit items: merino long johns, base layer, socks, down jacket, gloves + Rohan trousers. Warm as toast.
