Eurovelo 15 - the best bits to do?

Postby Quartz4373 » 10 Feb 2019, 12:14pm

Ok, this may be slightly naive question, but my bro and I want to cycle some Eurovelo 15 next Sept. We have less than two weeks and don't want to be a slave to the cycle every day. I'm thinking Basel to Cologne, circa 550km. Any advice please.

basel to cologne is pretty good, mainz through to dusseldorf is all really nice.

stay on the german side after basel though, i thought the bit through france was really boring (i don't personally know if the german side is better but it must be)

one you get into holland ev15 is dull

I think the higher up the Rhine you can start the better because you'll have a lot more variety in the scenery.
If you want to skip a boring bit then it's easy to just hop on/off a local train.

Luck ....... :D

So are there a lot of local train options along the route? I was wondering if there were, given that train lines tend to follow river courses.
