Very little... I stayed in a farm campsite in Rhos on Sea, close to Llandudno in early July... very decent for very little money. There is no shortage of reasonably priced ones. Obviously, if you go in late July/August, things become more complicated

South coast: Kent, East and West Sussex. I have a house near the beach in West Sussex so know it well - best avoided in the summer though...too many visitors.

Selsey, the Witterings...Pagham...Cuckmere...

And a whole bunch of escapees from Greater London are spoiling many areas.

Camping on beaches is fine but always bed down above the high water mark and be aware of the tides. I have kayaked and sailed for a few years and must say overnighting on beaches is great but always have an easy escape route.
