Bike Bags Bought!!

Post by Woodtourer »

We are using the plastic bags again this year as we go back to Europe. Stopped by the mattress store yesterday and picked up 2 new one as last year's were pretty torn up. TSA here in the US really does a number on boxes and other oversized items.
This year my plan is in addition to taping the bag up I am going to use stretch wrap applied white generously! My thought is if TSA slits the bags for using an inspection wand the stretch wrap will hold together.
St least that is what I am telling myself!

It seems that the TSA gives less training than ever. Swabbing a bag (or bike) should be non-invasive. One only needs to swab the areas where air is permeable.. Zippers, openings, hinges and in your case, where the plastic is taped.
They keep having this idea that someone is going to handle dangerous goods with their bare hands and then man-handle the bag.

I guess that's why they have never caught a terrorist
I wish it were as easy as riding a bike
