Pete and the driver, own transport to start, require return to start.
Nick, own transport.
John and Ken, own transport.

SO, ... David and Chris drive north picking up John and Alistair on the way.
Dave and Chris, drive back after the ride taking Pete +1, John and Alistair and Paul back across the country to various locations ....

That sound about right ??

Sounds right to me.

Has David and Chris have any plans for Monday night ?
Question for Thursday - return straight after ride or stay overnight and return Friday ?

I'd prefer to get back after the ride ... plus some food ... Jules will have had the kids for long enough by then ...lol ...

Please note these routes were made with plotaroute. com using osm cycle maps which are also on my garmin.
If they are used with equipment or maps which don't show osm cycle routes they may not work properly.
Day 1 http://www.plotaroute.com/route/856452
Day 2 http://www.plotaroute.com/route/856289
Day 3 http://www.plotaroute.com/route/856375
There are many versions of this c2c route most are well known and well signposted. Up to date maps show all the versions including this one

John B and I along with friend and fellow club member John G visited our second night stop yesterday its a caravan, camping bunkhouse and a busy cafe a hundred yards off route. The owner has agreed to open early 8-30 for our breakfast. I suggest we use Weatherspoons in nearby Consett for our previous evening meal, hopefully our backup will be able to ferry us there.
As a result of our ride along part of the route I have changed the route near the start, a sign saying not suitable for road bikes has been erected
on the original way.
As John G who is not a Wimp was instrumental in finding the alternative route does anyone mind if he joins us at Consett to ride part of they way.
The plotaroute route number remains the same

My latest update
From Tuesday 27 August the entire route will be closed to the public until the project is completed in December 2020. This is to ensure that the health and safety of the public is protected while major works are carried out on site. We appreciate that there will inevitably be some inconvenience for users. The project is a great opportunity to provide an important traffic-free and resilient link for a wide range of users between Keswick and Threlkeld

This refers to the Keswick area between the red crosses. Just stick to the yellow road (Penrith road)
