I hope you Wimps have all included hill climbing in your training.
Day 1 has a few long drawn out sections and a couple of biggish banks
Day 2 starts climbing more or less from the start has loads of steep hills and a couple of long downhill sections.
One of the hills Crawleyside Bank is aptly named I have never managed to climb it without stopping or indeed pushing sections.
I hope that will change since I'm using the ebike again.
Some of the off rode sections are gated the guidelines for using the gates are.
The first one to reach the gate opens it and waits for everyone to pass before closing it
The most important rule is make sure oldmanonabike and John B have passed bye before the gate is closed. This could take some time

It’s not the hills I’m worried about...have you seen the couple of characters waiting for us on the quayside?
That TV man looks mean.

Hill climbing ... have you not noticed my almost flat routes of late ..... :D
A phrase from our last grand endeavour ... "There is no hill so steep I cannot push a bike up it" .... although Berriedale was close ...

Hill climbing - in the Fylde - you've got to be joking.
We have one or two severe hump back bridges and :-

About 30ft above sea level. :)

Has anyone got thoughts on where we are spending the night before the start. ?

My confirmation email has disappeared. Nick / David can you remind me what site we're on, is it Seacote. Which reminds me I must book a space for Phil's tent....

Likewise no problem with guest rider (sorry a few posts back). Also don't mind driving van back from pub as alcohol doesn't do much for me! Anyone staying b&b the night before? Had 1or 2 places earmarked in Whitehaven, but as we've got transport could stay in St Bees. As we've got transport back up I presume don't need panniers to carry our kit (but will get a handlebar bag this time  )? Yes are the off road bits suitable for a road bike? As I remember it there was always an on road alternative nearby?
Nick I'll get copies of your booklet through eBay so that's a little less you need to bring. I haven't forgotten I owe you for the first one. Been away and off the bike for a while.

I only reserved camping for the two nights for a driver so does Phil want a breakfast booking at little salkeld?

No James the subject line should now be C2C

Coming down the hill you mention a Land Rover pulled out of a field in front of me. You can imagine the speed coming down it!
