All 4 Coast to coasts in one trip
All 4 Coast to coasts in one trip
Retiring this year so thinking of something as a challenge. I was thinking about doing all 4 cross country routes in one tour (ie C2C, Hadrians, WotR and W2W). Anyone done this. If so what order did you do them in & how did it work out?
Re: All 4 Coast to coasts in one trip
There's plenty more than four. What about St David's to Lowestoft and the Cornish Coast to Coast, for example?
MJR, mostly pedalling 3-speed roadsters. KL+West Norfolk BUG incl social easy rides http://www.klwnbug.co.uk

Re: All 4 Coast to coasts in one trip
I did a cheat-double C-T-C version with WOTR-ish: Manchester to Morcombe - WOTR (not adhering strictly to all the roads, for various reasons), Bridlington to Hexam - Hadrian's Wall route (again, not strictly) to Maryport, to Kendal and back to Manchester.
Apart from wet weather, it was a pleasant ride! I much preferred NC500+ Orkney and Shetland! I still have a few aspirations (coast of Britain), but I think 4 x C-T-C might lose a bit of focus? (for me, anyway) You could always look at the British Cycling Quest?

Takes about 3 hours, including cafe stop.

Can't say about all 4 but I did 2 of them a few years ago.... Hadrians and C2C: http://www.richmay.co.uk/c2c/

Don't forget Lowestoft to Ardnamurchan! Proper East-West crossing.
If you want a challenge - or you're just plain fast - have a go at the "official" version:

(A friend did it in about a week, she really loved it.)

A few years ago a group of us did Tynemouth to St Bees on the Reivers way and then the C2C back to Tynemouth. A good trip. If anything I preferred the Reivers way. Three days on each route. First night at Bellingham, second at Blackford just north of Carlisle, third at St bees, fourth at Mungrisdale and last night at Rookhope.

Hmmm ... that's interesting ...
Is that the trip you did in 2014? Do you have a route I could look at?
(I'm also tempted - due to time pressures - to just do the mainland bit. So stop at Dunnet Head in the north. The Shetlands are on the "Bucket List" shared with my better half!)
