Somerset Green Fair

Post by cc1085 »

June 2020 I will be travelling from Ireland to Somerset for the West Country Scythe Fest. Could anyone on here suggest routes that are reasonably traffic free from Fishguard or Pembroke ??

Maybe Celtic trail to Chepstow then over the Severn bridge, down over the Avon bridge and Avon cycleway to Clevedon. Pick up the strawberry line to Cheddar then roads down to Wedmore and Shapwick. Then lanes across the levels through the Hams to Langport.

Sorry I can't help with the route, but thanks for reminding me of this elite event.

I probably need to attend "The Scythe Masterclass" by Simon Fairlie et al. . . . at that festival

Ten years after being trained by Simon I've done a fair amount of scything but my endurance is poor = RSI aggravation to shoulder : this is compounded by having a weedy/weak upper body.
I'm hoping that a better technique will do some good.

I may see you there . . . . if I remember.
