The Old Man of Hoy, probably seen from the Scrabster - Stromness ferry.

I'll re-use one from the 'Free entertainment' thread which went unidentified, but with an extra image added.
These three were taken along or just off the same road, within 3.5 miles of each other:

I'm guessing sort of N or NE coast of Scotland? Major (A) road as 2 lane.
The middle photo seems to have the remains of a narrow guage railway.
I'd say the coast line (or road at least) has some form of meandering in/out, as in the 1st photo the cyclist's shadow is on the left, and in the 3rd photo the shadow is on the right.

Narrow gauge, maybe miniature railway?

If you look in the thread where they were originally posted it's confirmed to be Orkney or Shetland. Awful lot of twisty coastal roads to search...

Nice one Cyril!

It is indeed the road between Stove and Braeswick, on Sanday, featuring the wind turbines at Stove (which produce more power than the island can consume, leading to an undersea cable being laid to 'export' some to Eday) and the remains of the Sandy Light Railway, once Britan's most northery passenger-carrying railway. If some locals can be believed, it's closure must be for one of the oddest reasons ever: it was allegedly shut down by it's owner, who was also the island's registrar, in protest at his being forbidden from carrying out a civil partnership ceremony requested by two islanders (on the grounds that he was only a deputy registrar and civil partnerships had to be conducted by a senior registrar in Kirkwall). However others claim more prosaicly that it was closed following failing a safety inspection.

While we are trying to recognise that lake, anyone recognise this now closed Youth Hostel, which must have been used by many cyclists?
