Europe is open - who's going?
Europe is open - who's going?
So we have been given the green light to travel to many countries and Europe and a few further afield. So who's off on tour? (From England only)
Re: Europe is open - who's going?
Sent my passport off for renewal yesterday - I may have a long wait.

The F&C.O. are still saying no, so insurance says no. Until that changes, I say no.

Not me.
Was in Lisbon earlier this year, getting back only days before lockdown.
Got a trip booked for September to a nice log cabin in Scotland.

But as of today the FCO are saying yes to 59 countries.

Excellent, now I’ll wait for the insurance companies to catch up.
Re: Europe is open - who's going?
Already had a tour planned in late August, so looks like that can now happen!
Looking forward to it. I think it'll be safer than staying here.

Surely that should be automatic? I mean your insurance policy will say the policy is invalid if you visit a country that the FCO advises against all travel, so as soon as that is lifted it no longer applies.
Re: Europe is open - who's going?
im flying to cologne in a couple of weeks to meander around germany / belgium / holland for a couple of weeks
Re: Europe is open - who's going?
Most countries that one may want to go to are OK, but I'm puzzled that so many people seem keen to fly, cooped up in a small space with 200 other people for a couple of hours, when other public transport (buses and trains) is being avoided.
I'm booked on a ferry to France at the end of August, but I can see from Brittany Ferries' information that social distancing will be easy.

Bike in campervan! Though if they change the rules before I go, I may just take the bike

Bike in vehicle, that's not a bad idea. It's not really proper cycle touring but does give you the chance to get out of Dodge if it goes Tango Uniform again.
