In the article, the Monterrey 17 mile drive mention is accompanied by a photo from much further down the Cali coast. I did the west coast trip back in 94 and the mentioned 17 mile drive was a hyped thing that I did just because I was there (had never heard of it before I got near there) but my memories of it are simply an over the top example of the regular riff raff paying for the privilege of driving along and looking at where the wealthy live and play golf.
Sure, pretty area but the over the top excess of wealthy homes pretty much left a sour taste, funnily enough still present 26 years later and clearly coming out in my comments.
to me, putting this "route" in an article titled as such is a fairly good indication of the quality of the article.
