Me expecting wrong? Its just as likely the RYA has got its expectations wrong. Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed. We will see....

Reuse, recycle, thus do your bit to save the planet.... Get stuff at auctions, Dump, Charity Shops, Facebook Marketplace, Ebay, Car Boots. Choose an Old House, and a Banger ..... And cycle as often as you can......
Re: EU VISAs after Brexit
The most recent update from the government to the RYA is that it's not within the negotiations, it won't change with any upcoming agreement.
A novice learning...

Re: EU VISAs after Brexit
Anything that depends on rules and regulations can be changed more or less at any time. A country's laws are not like the laws of physics. On that basis, nothing is set in stone.

Taking back control and being tracked mercilessly around Europe
Beginning in 2022 as an officially ‘third (world?) country’ after Dec 31st, travellers to the Schengen zone will be required by law to provide the following information on an ETIAS visa application.
Personal Details

Home address. If this is not available, the city and country of residence will be required.
Contact phone number(s).
Valid email address.
Date, place and country of birth.
Nationality (current).
Other nationalities (if applicable).
First names of applicant’s parents.
Education history (primary school through to higher level) or none.
Gender.
Occupation. Additional information may be required regarding job title, job description and details of employer. Students will need to provide details of school or college.
Perhaps of most concern to some forum members
Criminal convictions in the preceding ten years including those for:
Sexual crimes involving children
Human trafficking
Drug trafficking
Rape
Murder
Money laundering
Criminal damage to persons or property
Terrorism (in preceding twenty years). Details will be required of when and in which country the offences occurred.

Re: EU VISAs after Brexit
What about arriving e.g. at Calais and requesting asylum. The UK seems to take forever befor eit gets to hear asylum cases so you undoubtedly be able to exceed the 90/180.
Might the French authorities get suspicious when loads of cyclists arrive at their borders requesting asylum only to return to their persecutors 180 days later.

Referendum vote by age, UK crime levels, UK immigration. Those whose lives are behind them screwed those whose lives are ahead of them.

Yes. Excellent points, and well made. But possibly more appropriate in another thread?

Just putting grandpa to bed.
Re: EU VISAs after Brexit
I think we’re locked into Schengen ‘third country’ rules (90/180) whatever the outcome of negotiations. Long stay visas for individual states by ‘in person’ application dependent on funds. Possible re-entry by 2026 at the earliest. Train journeys to aid entering and exiting Schengen area to allow for time on re-entry. Fake insurance cover notes.

Overstaying and sneaking back in lorries and inflatables.
Re: EU VISAs after Brexit
Obtaining EU status by marriage of convenience. Fake ID. Buying Maltese passport like mobsters do (950,000 euro).
