Like many I use my mobile for navigation (the wonderful LocusMaps) and need to have it plugged in to the e-bike battery most of the time. In looking for a new lead recently I came across this and thought I’d share for those who have not yet seen them:

There are dozens of variations of this idea which has a small head plugged permanently into the charging socket of the phone and a braided USB lead with a magnetic end. Once the phone is in its holder on my trike, the lead latches on without effort or thought. No more fiddling around to make sure I have the lead the right way around (it’s not an iPhone nor a Type C socket), or a worry that the constant insertion and removal when on tour may damage the phone.
The charge rate has been almost as good as a conventional lead and and the tiny head is very secure in its phone socket. The phone has a case so the head does not protrude and is hardly noticeable - see photo. In the house I use my charging mat and when on tour I plan to take a second magnetic lead for use away from the trike.

Re: Magnetic charging wire
The problem is the dozens of variations and lack of standards, isn't it? I found one did not fit through my phone case and corroded in another application.
