2019, they closed the cycle/pedestrian lane on the bridge whilst they completed some structural work. It lasted months and in order to cross the bridge by bike safely, you had to take the shuttle-bus transport with a bike trailer towed behind. I did it once to see how it went and went on Moulton knowing that it wouldn't fit on the trailer rack.
The driver loaded Moulton into the rear of the bus, so all was well.
They finished all that work, and things got back to normal, but as of 1st June - next week - they're going to commence to resurface the bridge, so we expect more issues with shuttle-buses and bike trailers.
This is just a heads up for anyone wanting to cross in either direction.
