Hi all
I'm due to be in Athens (Greece not Georgia) soon for a couple of weeks (essential travel, not a holiday). I'm not in a position to take a bike with me and would like to do a little cycling - perhaps an hour or two a day - while there. (Yes I am aware of the traffic issues, I will be on the coast a few miles SE of the centre so perhaps not quite as bad.) My ambitions are modest - just a simple hybrid will suffice. Does anybody have any suggestions for places that will hire a bike? Or alternatively I might buy a second hand bike then re-sell it when I leave?
Thanks

Bike hire can often be expensive for multiple days, but given the state of the tourism industry at the moment, you may be able to do a deal.
I would use Google maps to search out likely contenders. Hire places if it a tourist area, shops, particularly cheaper ones and maybe secondhand.
I use Google maps s lot to hunt out things I need when on tour. You can locate, often see pictures, maybe reviews, websites etc.

I've never tried these people, but they look promising for the sort of riding you have in mind (i.e. proper rides, rather than pootling up and down the pedestrianised streets by the Acropolis...): https://panoramabikes.gr/en/134-rent-a- ... ens-greece They're up in Marousi, though, so not the most convenient location for you. There are also these people -- in the centre: no choice of bike, but perhaps what they've got would cover your needs: https://athensbybike.com/services/rent-a-bike/
Riding in Attica can be very nice, imo: lots of good roads round (and over...) Hymettus, or over Pendeli and down to Marathon. Greek drivers are more considerate than their reputation might suggest, too!

Worth comparing against the likes of this:

Don't forget that selling it at the end of the holiday could be painful and time consuming, just when you don't need hassle.
