new gas stove, I think.
new gas stove, I think.
Anybody used one of these. looks useful with the built in windshield and those type of refills are quite cheap and readily available.

Re: new gas stove, I think.
Where does the gas connect?
Re: new gas stove, I think.
Goes in the side using one of the new long cartridges which are a lot cheaper than the traditional ones.

like all gas stoves, the fuel's expensive and bulky, but they're cheap to but and easy to light.
real men use paraffin stoves or kelly kettles

gas. women are too sensible to mess about with fire
Re: new gas stove, I think.
Whoever's selling them on ebay isn't sensible enough to care that compressed gas cannisters are on Royal Mail's prohibited items list.

They are not sending a canister are they? Is it not just the stove?

the one in the OP says you get four free canisters.
do the canisters reseal? cos it's not going to fit in that nice bag with one stuck out the side?
Re: new gas stove, I think.
Ahh. I see now. I was referring to the most recent for £10. doohh.
Yes they reseal and are a lot cheaper and more obtainable than the sit on cartridge type. It is a bit heavier than the traditional pocket rocket type at 400g, but if you include the windbreak and those cartridges are lighter I think, as they may be ali rather than steel then there may be not much in it.

Re: new gas stove, I think.
Not sure about the stove design tbh. It isn't very light for a gas stove and neither the picture or the description show how to adjust the flame.
I bought a remote gas stove from HK and a separate adapter that allows the same sort of cartridges to be used.
Adapter http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Transfer-connecto ... 19b5ff3a9e
Stove http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Portable-Cyclone- ... 19b5ff371b
The adapter works very well and would fit any remote gas stove. The only issue may be how well they work on a stove without preheat. The stove I link to above is very well made and works well but has a very concentrated flame. It is very adjustable but when on low is still very concentrated on a small area in the centre of the pot. Simmering pasta in sauce required constant stirring to prevent sticking and burning. As I bought it to try and get more variable heat than my old trangia this was a bit disappointing.

Those long thin canisters are butane where as the translational canisters tend to be propane butane mix.
