I've been using Bikely to plan my LEJOG route, but I've found several problems with it. The user interface is poorly designed, e.g. putting the "add new point" and "destroy everything!" buttons right next to each other. However, I've now discovered that it's not saving my changes - it claims to, but when I reload the page my changes have disappeared.

So, be careful if you're relying on Bikely, otherwise you may wind up wasting several hours. I'm now looking for an alternative; any tips?

+1 for the toaster.
I like to supplement it with BikeHike (http://www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php) as that also shows OS 50k maps. Folks have reported this has been up and down like a yoyo recently.

Re: Bikely woes
Thanks for the advice - I've imported my route into BikeRouteToaster. However, one nice feature of Bikely is that it shows the distance to each point (e.g. "150 km from start, 900 km from end"), so I can work out how far I'm going each day. I can't see any equivalent feature in BikeRouteToaster, just the total distance for the entire route. Am I missing something obvious?
I've also looked at CycleStreets.net, but that doesn't let you import routes (at the moment). I'll keep looking around, and report back on any good alternatives.
