best tent for uk cycle touring.
Hi everyone, new to this forum, looking for some advice on buying a touring tent for my ridgeback explorer, my requirements are:
2 person.
a good sized porch.
less than 3kg pack.
cannot afford a nallo 2 gt, (yes i know you get what you pay for).
week maximum touring at a time.
mostly touring UK south so not artic weather ( hopefully )
budget up to, around £300
not one that tapers too much in inner tent if possible.
my current favourites are:
- terra nova voyager xl
- vango spirit 200 +
- wild country duolite tourer 2
any thoughts - does anybody own, use the above tents ? can you recommend a good shop to purchase ?
your help appreciated.

MSR Hoop? Light, very spacious, not excessively expensive, but lacking a grand porch: http://cascadedesigns.com/msr/tents/exp ... op/product

Coleman Avoir X3. It's waterproof. And the ventilation is good. Decent headroom and porch.
The X2 is too small for 2

Of your shortlist I think the TN is in a class above the other two. Can you really get it for around £300? I think it'd still be my 1st choice if the Nallo was there as well. I've had a different TN tent for four years, yes it was stupidly expensive for a couple of kilos of fabric and some poles, even so it has proved to be good value.

the TN seems to retail at around £340 but i am sure it can be haggled a wee bit
how about this one:
Blacks octane 3 http://www.blacks.co.uk/product/095643.html
retailing at £229.950 seems outstanding value
what am i missing ??

They do a 2 berth the Avoir X2, but its too small for 2, the X3 is ok though. Read the Amazon reviews

The Wild Country Duolite Tourer is excellent. Roomy and very stable. Flysheet first pitching so nothing gets wet in the rain. Keep an eye on the clearance section of the Terra Nova website. I got my Duolite Tourer off there, ex-demo but basically in new condition for £132. Get a footprint, the groundsheet is pretty thin.
