Touring Inspiration Required

Hi All,
For the last three years I've done a single annual cycle tour in the summer months of about 3 weeks duration (LEJOG, Iceland and Norway). I'm looking for inspiration for next year. Something of the order of 1000 miles with great scenery and not too culturally challenging (I think Africa or South America are out). I usually prefer a route with a definitive end goal to inspire me on bad weather days. Whilst I love the flexibility of camping I prefer to use campsites rather than wild camp (I like showers too much!).

Any ideas?. You did a great job putting me on to Norway last year!.

Ta,
Dave

My goodness, you've done LEJOG, Iceland, Norway but not France! Get a ferry to top left, finish in bottom right, fly (or train + ferry, or bikebus) back. Easy camping, nice weather, pleasant roads, many boulangeries along the way. Logistically it's got to be the easiest place to tour. You can crank up the challenge level to suit yourself by veering towards the Pyrenese or the Alps. Some of the gorges in the bottom right are very nice to pedal through, too.

Eurovelo six along the Loire Valley From St Nazaire to the Black Sea. Do it in annual chunks.

Look it up here: http://www.eurovelo6.org/?set_language=en

+1 The Pacific Coast of North America would be my recommendation. Absolutely brilliant.

The big rivers of mainland Europe, the Elbe the Rhine and the Danube all have good cycle routes along their length, and tours can be adjusted to suit the time available.

I fancy Rome to home, nice routes and has a nice ring to it.
Romania or Slovenia/Croatia are other places I'd like to mooch around on my push bike.

There of plenty of easy ones here http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/pics/crazyguyonabike/profiles/00/00/81/28/Touring_Resume_-_psmiffy.pdf?v=0

But it is much more fun if you make your own up - only you really know what you want out of a tour

Denmark to Italian Alps (Esbjerg - Hamburg - Prague - Munich - Bressonane) . mostly on cycle routes which have good reputation (so my research tells me) and around about a thousand miles... Im planning this for next summer btw ... are you cycling alone or open to riding with other wheels?
