You can ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg and use Googles route finding to plan from there.

There are some good links from this site http://www.danskecykelstier.dk/default.aspx
Pop it in Google translate.
The route(s) you are looking for might have been mapped by other cyclists at http://www.opencyclemap.org/
You can also try http://cyclistic.dk/en/ which lists all of the official routes.
Have fun Denmark is a great place to cycle.

+1 but be aware that food is particularly expensive although beer is cheap!
Convention? what's that then?

Can you give a rough idea? (not the beer)
Re: Anyone know a cycle route UK to Copenhagan
Food isn't particular expensive in Denmark. Eating out is expensive, and imported food is expensive.
Baked goods are good and readily available, so if you don't want to cook, ask where the bakery is, then supplement baked goods with items from markets & supermarkets. Also street vendors and take-aways are rather less expensive by comparison. Lidl and Aldi are in Denmark, so they can be depended on for sale items and inexpensive foods.
I think that someone shopping for food items that are readily available in local shops, food is only a little more expensive (10%?) than the UK. Check on-line cost of living or shopping prices to get a better idea. They will list specific items (milk, eggs, bread, beer, etc.).

The best way to find things, or find the best place to shop in Denmark is asking locals, or going to the tourist information office. Danes don't advertise or sign attractions particularly well, but they usually have very good information in the tourist information office, and every village seems to have one. It's also a good way to find out about interesting things to see.

Years ago we cycled from Rotterdam through the Netherlands and Northern Germany, took the ferry from Rostock to Gedser and continued to Copenhagen. A great ride. Then we cycled west across Denmark and took the ferry back from Esbjerg.

Re: Anyone know a cycle route UK to Copenhagan
I roughly followed the North Sea Cycle route from the Hook of Holland to Hirtshals before getting Iceland ferry and then roughly cycled the reverse back off the Iceland ferry. It was around 1,000 miles each way.
I was camping on that route and was able to find a campsite every 50 miles or so.
I only had my Etrek sat nav until got into Denmark, where I picked up a DK-Camping guide at the first campsite I stopped in Denmark and pinched the map out of that. The map shows all campsites in Denmark and come in very handy if your going away from the coast.
If I was going to Copenhagen I'd do the same route up to Denmark, as it's easy to find campsites near the coast.
Then turn right once I had picked up a map and could work out the route between campsite once I'd left the coast.

Thanks for all the replies. I might come back to this thread when I start working out the route and stops in detail. I'm intending working out a route to put in my GPS and follow that.

Re: Anyone know a cycle route UK to Copenhagan
We found Denmark good for shops, there open the same hours as UK shops 7 days a week. Food was more expensive than Germany and in our case vegetarian food quite hard to find, only managed in health shops.
For camping try and get a copy of 'Overnatning i det fri' basically camping in peoples gardens. We never paid more than £5 for a night, most nights about £2 and only had to do without a shower a couple of nights.
Lovely country to tour, pity its just so expensive to get there directly on the ferry.

Re: Anyone know a cycle route UK to Copenhagan
If you use official campsites in Denmark you will need a camping card which you can buy in advance or at your first nights stop. This offers a basic insurance - a similar system is in force across the rest of Scandinavia. http://www.danishcampsites.dk/Camping+i ... g_card.htm
