long term carparking

Post by jobbo »

I'm planning a tour of south-west France next summer, and I'm looking for an hotel with a secure carpark where I can leave my car for four weeks somewhere near Orleans. Does any-one have any ideas? :?:

Have a look at warm showers you might be able to park outside someone's property while you are away and they could keep an eye on your vehicle while your away.

I've used this camp site before - it's in a place called Airvault which is some 140 miles SW of Orleans so might not suit your needs. The site is run by a British couple and they kept my car in their locked compound (used for storing caravans) for one Euro per day. On collection they started the car (flat battery!) and had it ready for me.

On my various cycle camping tours in France I've come across a number of sites that store caravans and would no doubt look after your car. My French language is not up to much so I've not explored this route though.

In similar threads on this subject, others have advocated just leaving their car in a quite village street, but I wouldn't be comfortable with this personally.
Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey
