Any advice for Helen's Take On The Very Coldest Bit Of Siberia In Mid-Winter?

I read about an expedition cycling on the sea-ice in Greenland once. No opportunities to be picked up by a passing truck if you didn't like how things were going, though doubtless they could phone for a helicopter in serious emergency. But they were pulling very large quantities of food and could wait out terrible weather. Indeed they had positioned food-dumps in advance as there was no other way to cover the distances in the time available. They were concerned about the performance of lubricants in very low temperatures and tested them in industrial freezers, though they weren't really cold enough. An indication of how close to the edge they were was that someone picked up a bad freeze-burn when their stove needed some attention they just couldn't achieve with gloves on. I suppose that they could be confident they wouldn't have to deal with wheel-ruts though.

I thought you were going to be eaten by starving and ravenous Coyotes and we were going to read about it in - The Sun newspaper (strangely !).

Seriously, I think there was a particularly cold snap at that time as it was in the news, all of the US was frozen and we have clients in Canada who were struggling to get to work. I hope you enjoyed the trip though, something out of the ordinary, well done !
