What are the duties of a Member Group Welfare Officer?

As I understand this, they act as a "named person" and any complaints regarding the activities of the "Group" formerly known as the "DA" can be directed to this person.

I`ve just found some paperwork hiding on my desk about the W.O role:

There is clear evidence that our groups ofter lack someone to support members who may have concerns about joining the club, their own contribution, how to fit in or in the worst case have grievances about how they are treated by the club members or individuals. Having a plan for welcoming new members or volunteers is a clear need.

And as I`ve said before this is what the Secretary does anyway! What next a Health & Safely Officer? `Memberships number 001212 you can`t cycle with just one hand, but, but I was just signalling to turn right`
