From the Local Groups bit of this website, hope it helps:

North Staffordshire & South Cheshire CTC District Association
Contact Name: Mark Sistern
Address: 3 Chapel Close, Audlem, CREWE, CW3 0BG
Tel: 01270 811025

Web: http://beehive.thisisthesentinel.co.uk/cycletouring

I know there are some active cyclists riding with this DA as I met them in a Cheshire tearoom a few weeks ago.

Also:

Shropshire & Mid Wales CTC District Association
Contact Name: Rob Jones
Address: 5 Mount Way, Pontesbury, SHREWSBURY, SY5 0RB

Web: www.cycleshropshire.org.uk/

Thanks Karen.

"People participating in these rides must be members of the CTC (a national cyclists organisation) and be confident of their ability to ride distances of between 45 and 70 miles (average 14 mph)."

Shame I'm too slow for them!

Unfortunatly the group closed at the end of last year as they could not raise a committee and the group folded.

This is a shame as I used to ride with the group on a Wednesday evenings 10 years ago, and we had some great rides.

So what cycleing groups are there now in South Cheshire area??

There is a club in the Crewe area but I don't know their name (not a CTC group), but I believe they are mainly into fast training rides.

Bugger! I've just worked myself up to their speed/distance requirements and was thinking about joining.

Just thought I'd bump this up to the top, since I can't find anything in the Crewe/Nantwich/Audlem area.

You could always have a go at starting one...a letter in Cycle might get some responses. And if you start it up then you get to choose the speed and distance
