Havering CTC, Upminster Essex - Why not join us?

New rides on website up until mid november 2012

We will be stopping for a cuppa at the Epping Ongar Historic railway; heading to Burnham on Crouch for a long ride before the clock go back; riding upto to Epping - passing Olympic canoeing venue then back through the east end - Why not join us?!?

23rd Sept Mill Green, The Viper. 11’s Nth Weald Station on Historic Epping Ongar Railway
We will be riding to 11's for a break in the cafe at the Epping Ongar heritage railway, where we can look on at the steam trains coming and going in the restored station as we have our break. After that we are off for the ride to the pub which is right on the edge of a deep forest. Epping Ongar Railway website http://www.eorailway.co.uk Circa 70k / 43m.

30th Sept Burnham on Crouch, The Contented Sole
This is the last chance to get a big ride in before the clocks go back. Why not join us for a ride up to the river crouch.
Pub lunch by the river. Circa 65-70 M. 105-112km

7th Oct All-comers Ride, SEE BELOW

14th Oct Havering CTC AGM
10am, Visitor Centre, Belhus Woods Country Park. Romford Road, Aveley, South Ockendon, RM15 4XJ.
We shall be meeting at usual time for ride to Belhus.
All CTC members in our area are welcome to attend. We will be discussing the past year, electing committee members and deciding on activities for the coming year.

21st Oct Epping Green, then back to Limehouse Rail via Lea Valley Park
Head through the hills of Epping we will end up at the northern end of Lee Valley Park where the Olympic white-water canoeing venue is located. We shall ride though this green lung following the canal though the East End (though often you would not notice it) back to Limehouse Rail.

28th Oct Matching Tye, The Fox
Riding to a pub lunch through the quiet country lanes west of Chelmsford. Circa 72k / 45m

4th Nov All-comers Ride, SEE BELOW

11th Nov Writtle, Rose & Crown
We will be riding to lunch in the quiet Essex village of Writtle which has a traditional village green with duck pond. Located a few miles from Chelmsford. Circa 56k / 35m

18th Nov Essex CTC MG AGM, Chelmer Club Hut 10.30am
The AGM for the Essex Umbrella group for all the groups in Essex. We will be discussing pat year and the year to come.

18th Nov Mill Green, The Viper.
Ride to pub which is right on the edge of a deep forest and serves nice food. Circa 30m / 48k

All-comer Rides
1st Sunday each month. Rides geared more to new riders. To introduce less experienced cyclists to our group we will ride shorter distances. Rides ranging from 15 to 45 miles, with a break half way.
Regular members will be able to carry on for the full day as normal.

New Rides list now on website!!
We have got some great winter riding lined up. As Autumn turns to Winter the
familar views change as the landscapes open up. Get some riding in before the
party season so your ready for the new year.

We meet at 9am each Sunday in Upminster, unless stated otherwise.
Upminster is only 9 mins from Barking and 13mins from West Ham on the Railway.

Some members often can't do whole ride and turn back at 11's - you can too if

the CTC groups in Essex in Margaretting Tye which is just past Stock. See

We will ride with them to The Bell Pub in Purleigh which is just south of
Maldon.

A village in this particularly quiet part of Essex, all you will see here are
quiet country lanes. One of our old favorites.

2013

1st Jan (TUESDAY) New Years Day Ride - Meet at 10am
Start the new year the best way - with a ride and work off some of those mince
pies! Destination decided on the day.

6th Jan - All-comers Ride - SEE BELOW

Ride with South East Essex (SEG) CTC to West Hanningfield
Meting as usual we be meeting SEG at Blackmore then riding with them for lunch
at a very nice country pub, Three Compasses, just north of Hanningfield
Reservoir.
