Altura ProGel bibshorts

Post by TrevA »

I bought a pair of these just over a year ago and have probably worn them 20-30 times. The pad is constructed in 2 parts that are bonded together. Today I noticed that the 2 parts are separating and the Gel insert has come out. The bonding has failed.

They weren't cheap - £49 as I recall.

I have other shorts from Decathon, Endura and Orbea and all use a one piece insert that is sewn into the shorts. None use bonding. I can't recommend the Pro Gel shorts and won't be buying any more.

Update

Browsing the Altura website, I noticed that they have a 2 year warranty but won't deal with the customer directly, only via the retailer. I didn't have my original receipt but remembered where and when I bought them. They are 13 months old. I took a printout of the Altura webpage and a copy of the relevant bank statement as proof of purchase. After some faffing about they agreed to give me a gift card to the value of the purchase of the shorts. Not quite as good as a full refund but better than nothing. I bought them from Ultimate Outdoors which us part of the Milletts/Blacks group.
