Hello, I purchased a copy of 'Cycling World' at W.H.Smith as it seemed a different type of cycling magazine from the one's on Smith's shelves. So for the first time for years I sent off a cheque for a years subscription. That was in April of this year. In the middle of May I relised I had received no May issue so I had to write for one! The same thing happened in June, again I had to write and email. This time I had THREE separate copies of the June edition sent including one that came this week....no July one has turned up to date. Yesterday I cancelled the subscriptrion in disgust. I must say that most of the articles are based on a commericial operation with the operation particulars printed at the end of each article. There are not many 'stand alone' cycling articles printed per issue! It look's like its back to browsing the magazine in the Worcester branch of Smiths!

Si, could I add here, rather than on the other thread you mentioned, that my experience of Cycling World's failure to deliver the magazine exactly mirrors that of Bill's? The distribution of CW to the subscribers is appallingly inept. The June issue appeared on the shelves of W.H. Smith on 22nd June, yet the subscribers received their copies on 8th July. Several disgruntled subs posted to this effect on the CW Facebook page yesterday, though I can't see those comments today.
I'm not sure whether the problems lie with the publisher, the subscriptions processing by EDS, or the actual distribution to the subscribers by Partnership Mailings. I should add that June was not an isolated instance of erratic delivery - there have been problems every month since I took out my subscription in March.

I like much of the copy in CW, despite the advertorials. However, following the OP's comments and those on the FB page, it is obvious that many, if not all, subscribers are being treated shabbily, so I certainly couldn't encourage anyone to take out a subscription.

In the interests of fairness, I have to record that the July issue of CW arrived today (only four days after the June issue!), so perhaps they have finally got their act together. It has yet to appear on Smith's shelves, here in Stirling.

Oddly enough, I did detect a hint of uncharacteristic efficiency from Cycling World over the last few days - the speed with which they deleted the most mildly critical of posts from their Facebook page, submitted by several disgruntled subscribers, was nothing short of startling.
