i really dont get bespoke builders at all, GIVE THE CUSTOMER EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT!!!

How difficult can that be?

It's not unusual for some "bespoke" builders to ignore what the customer wants.....
However, in contrast to a comment above, I wouldn't put Steve Goff in this category. From my experience he will build whatever you specify, providing it's possible.

I finally got up the courage to find out why my '97 Campagnolo Veloce right hand brifter was shifting far too easily (almost on its own). When I took it apart, I found a cracked casting and a broken G spring. I phone Mercian, with part numbers, and got replacement parts after two days. They were very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They knew about the alternative part number for the G spring.

I successfully re-assembled the brifter - so, good for another 19 years service. Should see me out!
