I met a couple of lasses doing JOGLE hwo admitted that they's have packed in after the first five days if it wasn't for the loss of face that they's felt that they'd suffer.
I found that the sponsorship aspect of it urged me to go on when otherwise I might have resorted to missing the odd section out by using the train (the LEJOG was my first cycle tour and i'd only been cycling around a year so wasn't quite as bike fit, physically or mentally, as I am now). As it was I was really glad that I rode the whole thing and ended up really enjoying the section that I was worrying about.
