Solo unsupported - its amazing the madness you discuss with yourself. (For some reason i got "lets go fly a kite" stuck in my head for uphil climbs.... along with talking heads "road to nowhere" on the A9....)
Otherway is to have waystations set out, so you make your own pace with a daily end point. the group may split into naturally selecting groups anyway...
6 day LEJOG
Re: 6 day LEJOG
Just finished a 5 day lejog with two other riders and did an end to end of America with 4 other riders and agree with the previous comments. the more people in the team then the more chance of someone having a problem (mechanical, or performance), and if you are committed to rider together then it will slow you down. You are as a fast as the slowest rider on the road at any one time. If you have one rider that isn't great on hills then you have to wait, if you have someone who isn't good in the wind then you have to wait,if you have someone who hasn't done the training, having a bad day, didn't sleep, injured, got a mechanical then you have to wait. For short days up to 100 miles it's less of an issue but over that it's eating into your recovery
