Can i just reiterate the need to let us know if you are joining us or not .... there will be inevitable changes in the plans of those who "commit" at this stage, that we understand .... life happens .....
Could all who intend to join us for the July 15th Ride, just 3 weeks away, please pm myself .... Even if there is only myself taking part it will happen .. ...

Cycleruk Kft and Old man on a bike intend to be there, so anyone else will be able to ask any questions about the route.

Wimps Strava
I'm sorry I missed posting Strava results the last couple off weeks I have been away.
Last week saw 4 riders in the 9 sections of the leaderboard
Longest distance was a staggering 151.7 miles Height gained a massive 20,180ft
Hat off to those two riders
I didn't get any miles in so I didn't get a mention on the board at all

There is a problem with this weeks Strava as someone has averaged 176 mph.
I think they rode of a cliff.

151 miles was myself. I did a 108 mile Sportive and a couple who started in the same club in January with me decided ride to and from the venue to get 150 miles in.

Waiting for the feeling to return to my left hand!

I'm never sure if the wimps strava club members want their achievements shown on the forum certainly I would want the world to know if I ever achieved over a hundred miles especially at 16mph.

That's quite an achievement. I hope you had some decent chamois cream.

The 20,000 ft ascent was me. Slightly cheating as it was on a mountain bike with some ski lift assistance in the alps. Still a very tough day out though.

I was in Switzerland a couple of weeks ago, I was amazed that their soldiers girlfriends had to be trained to multitask in household duties such as cooking, cleaning, polishing ,washing and shopping.
Only after this rigorous training could they get married and become known as
Swiss Army Wives

The July 50 miler.
Details 2 months Late !! oops ...

A 50 mile loop in the Stafford area on the Saturday the 15th July.
This is a get together for the WLEJOG mob and anyone else that wants to come along for the jaunt.

Start and finish is at St Lawrence Church, Gnosall, Stafford ST20 0ER.
Starting time is 0900hrs to allow the "Park and ride" brigade to join.
Having taken advice from Gnosall Parish Council there is public parking available near the Royal Oak pub / Gnosall allotments (ST20 0BL).
I have provisionally booked 4 tent pitches at White Gate Farm campsite, the nearest tent site to the start, 9.6 miles away, for the night of the 14th July, We are having one so 3 available. ( ST19 9QT, 01785 840866 or 07703627366)

The area of the route is covered in a layer of pubs, cafes and food establishments that would make even the BBC happy with the diversity footprint!

The route;

Whether we ride the route clockwise or anti-clockwise we can decide on the day .....

The ride will not be cancelled due to weather, storm or pestilence, or lack of participation .... Me, Jules and grandkids various will be there.

This will be an interesting day. I thought we were riding from Brum (note to self, read posts properly) so planned to drive up in the morning. I will have to have a think to see if I can travel on the Friday but I a have Health visitors meeting at my folks in the afternoon. I have a feeling it'll be a drive up, ride and drive home, oh and the Harrison forks will still be at the menders so I'll have to bring a different bike...
