The photo man at lands end doesn't start till 9. Unless we plan to make our own signpost.
Seriously if we are near towns an early start would avoid a lot of traffic and when you get to my age you don't need much sleep
9 or 10 hours does

You mean "It's 1030 I may get up" Jules.
Or "I'll see you at the campsite at 3pm guys but I'll still be in my nightie or pj's " Jules .
Or the ever favorite... "It's raining so I'm not getting dressed today " Jules.

She's really looking fwd to it. She read the previous posts, laughed, then threatened me with celery in my dinner ...
Our "classic" (old :) ) camper van does not have power steering so are off to a campsite in Somerset where you stay the night in their lovely riverside site ..with nearby pub.... While they fit electric power steering ...result!

Just thought I'd butt in and say hi to all you wimps. Delighted it's all still going well. Sorry to have
missed the July ride- stuff came up etc....

Amazing what you've done since my original post- with the number of views you must have many
enjoying the banter from outside the group.

I'm still looking for the ultra-wimp method for lejog - no more than 50 miles a day and none of Mick's
100 feet per mile nonsense! Delighted to see some even larger cassettes appearing too- it really
is becoming the season of the wimp!

All the best

Nice to hear from the founder of the group, we have had a busy time since January when Landsurfer and I picked up your challenge.
With the help of Cycleruk and KFT we have, with input and advice from many forum members, produced a route
that was the shortest and least climbing we could,
KFT and Cycleruk took it all apart changed it from 12 riding days to fourteen, adjusted the mileage and climbing to make the effort each day as close as possible and then sorted out campsites and tweaked the route where possible to take advantage of quieter roads.
The end result is 879 miles and 37,216 feet of climbing .Not the shortest route we made but hopefully the best for us
We have now closed the group with 11riders taking part.
Discussing on the forum will no doubt continue

Sounds very good! Are the daily routes available in gpx to view and marvel at? When are you leaving LE?

Just checking as to whether Rotherham ride is still on this Sunday? Could make this although sore throat and cold telling me otherwise! Need to see if I can keep up with any of you!

Hi John,
The Rotherham ride is December, not this weekend.

Ah that explains why no one was mentioning it! Thanks for letting me know. Must go for that memory test!
