My favourite of the trip was Cornerstone in Evanton, lovely people, big pots of tea and coffee + refills, delicious breakfast, followed by them asking if we wanted our bottles refilling with iced water.

Pippa York was speaking today about taking on food.

Not sure about that. I can’t climb or ride fast (well relatively speaking) on a full stomach but I do need to eat my own weight in food when I’m finished.....

Mine too, we were treated like royalty. Fantastic place and people.

For any others planning a WIMP style LEJOG with a support vehicle here's an indication of fuel costs.

We collected riders from Ecclefechan, Preston and Bristol.
Supported the ride from LE to JOG, carried tents and equipment between campsites, provided water to riders on the road (god, it was hot) and returned riders after the event to Ecclefechan, Preston and Bristol.
The van was based in Chesterfield and left and returned there.

Fuel bill was £826 ... a lot less than expected. :)

In our case the van and fuel where provided free of charge by a supporter .. which was nice :D

And this was really appreciated by all the riders. Without that generosity we would have missed out on an experience we’ll never forget...

Hi,
Fuel is not the full running cost, but the firms probably getting tax relief on that, well maybe not now you have posted the pic :(

Chris has replaced the engine on his camper van (twice) and is currently under a train with his team making things happen as we speak ... we'd be lost without him ... :)
He is part of our design team for our next project ... and has been out on his bike more than i have since we got back.

Riley is moving to his new parents in 4 weeks and the grand kids have landed for the 6 week hols ..... :? we'll manage ..

Anybody fancy a bike ride .... Nick ?

In terms of mileage driven, we did just over 2000 in the camper (Corby-LE- JoG- Corby) so I guess the support van did even more.

A fantastic 2 weeks with a great bunch. Thanks David for the support and Chris for giving up your time. I hope the new engine is now running well.
I see John is clocking up miles again so hope Ken is also feeling a bit less tender.
