I can't see any V-brake pegs on them forks there Flash, did you swap the forks as well or did you use some type of 'lash up' for fitting the V-brakes??
I am only asking as I had quite a job sourcing SUS corrected rigid forks of sufficient A-C scantlings with V-brake pegs.
Settled on the Surly Ogre fork in the end which I'm very happy with, plenty of scope for bolting stuff on and contrary to initial misgivings the facility for fitting water bottles is very handy,
All the best, Simon

OK thanks Flash, I was not aware of them but as I understand it they are pretty specific to that fork,
Cheers again, all the best, Simon

Route bypassing Bristol
Bristol has been a bit of a headache with busy roads and few campsites.
We have come up with a route that misses the city centre and we hope most of the busy roads. There may be a bit of tweaking still to be done but As usual comments are welcome

We drove the route from Fraddon to Okehampton this afternoon ......
The section from St. Columb Major to the turn off just north of the Boscastle / Tintagel, in the words of our Jules was ...... "Permanently up-hill" .....
She is suggesting a defibrillator may be a good idea ...

At one time I used to teach and requalify first responders in the use of defibrillators and CPR but there's no way I'm carrying one on my bike lol

From the bottom of the Allen Valley right up to where you turn right onto the A395 north of Camelford is a long haul up hill.landsurfer wrote:We drove the route from Fraddon to Okehampton this afternoon ......

From the St. Columb roundabout to the St. Kew services is a hell of a rollercoaster as well .... but we will prevail ...ish

Ken, the revised "avoid Bristol" route looks good. I see you've managed to avoid the "hill of doom" by the Clevedon Golf Club and the short sharp sod of a hill just before Pill. I'll probably peel off after the Avonmouth Bridge, down the Portway, probably avoid Bridge Valley Road but up Jacobs Wells Road, spend that night at home and meet you at the campsite the following morning...

Thanks Flash I'm happy to take all the credit but cycleruk and KFt are also heavily involved in the planning process. There is no problem with you are anyone else popping Hömë for the night.
