It looks as though either the tracker or the rider has stopped.

Tracker is down. Last position was Kendal@ 08:13, 48 mins behind schedule (source @ 24hourmaths twittet)

The tracker is working again.

48 mins behind schedule is a critical point with a schedule to beat the record by 45 mins. Fingers crossed it's still retrievable.

Sadly, Christina’s attempt has ended just north of Kendal.

Good morning all. Unfortunately, it’s with heavy hearts that we have to report that Christina has abandoned her attempt due to a niggling injury that just wouldn’t go away. A valiant and inspirational effort I’m sure you’ll all agree. Thank you all for your overwhelming support. (link)

That’s a brilliant graph above. Anybody whom attempts such a ‘tough’ record has my admiration. Just goes to show what supreme athletes the previous holders were/are especially when you consider their bikes and kit.
I feel gutted for Christina and her team and wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Sorry to hear it

Sounds more than a niggle!

But I know from marathons and ultras that pushing on through the pain often leads to bigger injuries and longer recovery times down the line for no benefit once the goal becomes untenable.

Hope she tries again.

Cheers James

It would be really good if she’s able to have another go at this.

Those interested in cycling endurance races and long distance records might find Ian Walker's "Endless Perfect Circles" a good read...

Given Sheriden did 870 miles in total as opposed to the more modern 840, should her time be adjusted to reflect this?
