I think he'll reach JoG, stop and just fall off the bike. Needing others to pick him up.

I think there will be less than an hour of complete darkness. If he can just keep going he should make it but there are a few nasty stings in the tail yet to come. Go Mike!

Its a shame this wasn't advertised more in advance. I stumbled on this post yesterday. If I knew in advance I would liked to have gone along and cheered at some point.

He's struggling so he's not there yet:

He’s still having to prop his head up on his hand / elbow (resting on the aero bars) hence the slower pace even on flats / downhill. Scary to watch him descending in that position at speed.

He’s through Brora with just over 60 miles to go. Almost in touching distance now.

In his present state it doesn't sound very safe - fingers crossed that he stays upright.

Bed time for me, so I won't know the result for ages.

Well done!

A time 3 minutes inside schedule suggests meticulous planning.

Excellent effort.

Was the initial intention to carry on for the 'fastest 1000'?? Can't blame him if he's had enough.

+1 from me! :D

Absolutely stunning ride. It looked bad at one point, but he recovered and triumphed.

Ya beauty !!!
Stirling effort and quality ride. So pleased Gethin lined the route for him early on In Hale.
So that’s it then or does anyone else think they can beat that?

Oh and don’t forget the ladies Jasmijn Mulleur scheduled for July. It might be while we WIMPS are setting our own record so someone else will need to alert you dot watchers. I will have my own dot but I think only my wife wants to watch that! :D
