I used to know someone who had his blood type tattooed on his wrist, easily the most useful one I've seen. Though hopefully not needed for a LEJoG.
Everyone's ghast should get a good flabbering now and then.

Chap I knew in the RN was allergic to penicillin and had the fact tattooed on his upper arms.
His name was Stan. Came from Abingdon and we were good mates. Sadly, he was electrocuted late one night working on a fault. Ironic really.

When I saw this thread title my immediate thought was of a full back tattoo. Nice map with cartoons of all the hostels I stayed in. Not a very practical type.

Seems a queer sort of vanity, one can only see it with a mirror, should the tattoo itself be a mirror image so the mirror image is right? :?
Besides, it would soon be obsolete
I guess the YHA could train wardens in tattooing
Dozens of members would line up to be tattooed before breakfast

People have awful ones of roses, koi carp, maori patterns and so on. A nice detailed LEJOG route would be far better. And there'd definitely be a market as we tend to be proud of our endeavours. :D

You could have Wales on your left buttock and East Anglia on your right. Not quite sure where that leaves Birmingham :D

A friend says all tattoos say the same thing about the wearer and it could simply be expressed by a tattoo of an anchor surmounted by a W. Same guy says all personalised number plates read the same - TW 4T.

May I suggest we all start by getting our pseudonyms tattooed in a discrete location?

A person standing up, with legs apart, isn't totally dissimilar in shape to Great Britain, so perhaps you could trace the whole route up from the small toe on your left foot to the top of your head. :D

A good, creative tattoo artist can do something original with whatever you want included. They can do sketches beforehand, and work with you to get something nice. I don't know about your area, but many tattoo studios have at least one person who does original art.
