To put this figure into perspective, I rode JOGLE on a Raleigh Chopper towing a heavy trailer, and did it in 87hrs 4mins of cycling.
Mind you, I did it in 15days. :D

There's provisional plans for it to be a calendar event, there's already a choice of permanents, DIY's are... well something you Do Yorself

It is in the planning stage... so not a done deal by any stretch of imagination, as I understand.

But... I'm game :D

116 hours is more generous than I anticipated, that's basically the best part of 5 full days, which means less than the magical 300 km a day will be needed.

That's the problem with unofficial records, someone might go to a lot of time and effort to beat it, only to find they hadn't...

On the other hand, had someone done it in less than 8 days, then they would have probably left a trace on the web... it's difficult to do anything without leaving a trace these days.
Unless it was before the 90s...

I contacted Guinness Book of Records about my JOGLE on the Chopper, but they weren't interested stating that "firsts" aren't records.

Seems to me though, that unless they know of the First, they will never know that someone has done it faster ................ and they would also say they were the first as well.

Best to leave Guinness WR out... if they get interested, then someone will immediately put the record out of reach of mortals by riding LeJoG on a Brompton in sub 50 hours...

BTW, current "best time" reported here

Entries are now open, apparently, although for some reason it is not in the calendar yet.

It's a bit financial commitment this early, seeing that typically Audax fees are non refundable.
Will have to do more thinking... the logistics are complex and expensive and once all is factored in (trains, overnight stay at start + finish, meals), it will cost around 500 quid
